Jagger was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma on May 1, 2026.
Symptoms first occurred as wheezing during soccer runs. It picked up as a cough/coughing up stuff, and breathing issues. He had seen the doctor and had medication. He played three soccer games, sleeping and resting in between games. He was tired, but I figured a soccer weekend plus being on meds, he was going to be tired. I knew something was wrong earlier in the week and asked him if he was okay. He said his chest felt tight, so I told him to just sit out today. He never complains or tries to find a way out of doing tough sessions, so I knew something wasn’t right.
He came home from school, laid down to take a nap, and didn't get up until 9:30PM. He barely ate, took a shower. I told him I’d put him on a breathing treatment; I have a nebulizer. He said he just wanted to go back to bed. Tuesday morning he woke me up and asked me if I’d give him a breathing treatment, his chest and side were hurting and he felt like he couldn’t breathe. He took a breathing treatment and we headed to get an X-ray. The -Xray was done and we were sent straight to the ER before it was read, because they knew it didn’t look good. The ER took another X-ray and noted a mass about the size of an iPhone in his chest and then arranged for us to be taken to Children’s of Mississippi in Jackson.
It was identified as T-cell Lymphoma, a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (<15% of cases) arising from malignant T-cells, which are crucial immune cells.
His definition - NO SOCCER and NO school for 6-9 months. NO hangouts with friends. Hospitals/home is all he’ll see basically. He’ll have no immune system.
We know it’s a long road, a hard fight, we also know we have a lot of people behind us, supporting us, PRAYING For US.
