We were visiting family in Oaxaca, Mexico when we started to notice symptoms. My son was extremely lethargic, bruises, severe leg pain, and high fevers that would not go down with medication. We went to 3 different doctors and they didn't know what my son had. We were transferred to a Pediatric Specialist where we found out about his condition. We rushed back to the USA where my son started chemo, surgery, bone marrow aspiration, among other procedures. My son hit remission the following month. Today, he just finished delayed intensification which was brutal. He is currently hospitalized since he is neutropenic and trying to fight a virus.
